In 1998, I was invited by some friends to join their reggae-ska band called “Hi-Jack!”. I also began playing bigger and better shows, with more experienced musicians and music professionals around me.
Even though we were having a great time together and I was in a more professional and promising band, I decided to quit after a year and reinvest my time into 99 Stickers. I think I always felt Hi-Jack! was my friends’ band, and 99 Stickers was my band. Eventually, 99 Stickers went nowhere (what a surprise…). In hindsight, it was clearly a “bad” decision on my part, proof that we have no idea what we’re doing in our late teens. But hey, I don’t truly believe in “good” or “bad” decisions, because any decision leads us to other opportunities in life anyway.
