The idea for the “365 Challenge” came to me in 2015. The main goal was to release 365 Danny Wyatt songs in a single year, one song a day, but at the time I was also focused on other things, so I had to put it on the back burner.
In July 2022, it was time to embark on this ambitious journey. I started working on it every day, organizing old songs I had started, and thinking about how I would pull it off. The releases were set to start on January 1, 2023, but after dropping a few songs, I got sidetracked when I decided to help another musician. For the next three months (Feb, Mar, Apr), I solely worked on her music. Unfortunately, things didn’t go well between us, but I was already behind on the challenge, so I set a new date: September 1, 2023.
At the same time, I had an issue with my music distributor, so I had to find another one. All my music from all my projects (Danny Wyatt, Sir Giant, and 3ple) had to be removed no later than April. That definitely added to my anxiety, because now I had to go through the process of taking down everything, finding a good distributor, uploading all songs again, etc. We’re talking about 70+ songs total.
When September 2023 came, I re-released the songs from January, plus a few more, totaling 15 songs. But once again, life events made me lose focus and interest in making music. In the following months, I tried to come up with a new plan, but my mental strength was too low at that point. I completely decided to forget about the challenge… until this year, 2026, because these things still haunt me:
- A tattoo I got just for the challenge
- I want my mom, my biggest supporter, to witness my international success.
- The world-famous website EDM.com promoted the challenge, so I owe them not to quit
- I can’t live with myself if this is yet another thing I leave unfinished
But I’m back, stronger and wiser, and now I have a more reliable plan that’s already in motion. It will not only allow me to focus on fewer things at a time but also help me be more productive. I have a lot of songs that are already 90% complete, some are 50% or 30%, so it’s not like I’m starting from scratch. But I want to give myself plenty of time to work without stress or anxiety.
